Premier League predictions for the 2022/23 season

Premier League Predictions For 2022/23 Season

The Premier League season has already started and football fans are excited about it. This is a perfect time for Soofootball experts to cast our Premier League table predictions for the 2022/23 season.

There are a few factors to consider before arriving at our prediction. Let’s consider these factors.

Factors That Determine Soofootball’s 2022/23 Premier League Table Prediction

1. Last Season’s Performance

The performance of a team last season has the biggest influence on our predictions of the 2022/23 Premier League table.

How well or badly a team performs in the previous season is a big deal because there are chances they perform on a similar level again this season.

However, it must be emphasized that last season’s performance is not the only factor to consider.

2. Player Signing

Players’ signings or lack of it is yet another influence on our predictions.

For teams who made marquee signings of key players that they need, it is only logical to expect such a team to have a better performance than last season.

On the other hand, teams who failed to strengthen key areas in the squad cannot logically perform better this season.

3. Managerial Change

Some Premier League clubs changed managers during the summer.

These managers are naturally expected to perform better than the previous season.

Soofootball Premier League Table Predictions For 2022/23

1. Manchester City

As we may all know, Manchester City have won the Premier League 4 out of the last 5 years and they are reigning Champions.

Read up the final day drama against QPR in their first ever Premier League win. That match is the origin of the popular 93 20 Man City slogan.

Last season, Guardiola failed to play with Strikers. In fact, he pushed Gabriel Jesus wide for the most part of the season. Still, they found a way to win the Premier League title.

In the summer, City signed two quality strikers in Erling Haaland and Julián Álvarez – both of whom have already scored this season.

It’s only logical for us to predict that Manchester City will be crowned Premier League champions in the 2022/23 season.

2. Liverpool

Liverpool also made a big statement during the summer by signing Benfica Striker Darwin Nunez.

We predict that Liverpool will fight Manchester City to the end of the season just like in the 2021/22 season.

However, overall, we see Liverpool as second best in the League come the end of the season.

Also, we predict that the gap between Liverpool and the 3rd placed team would be wide.

3 Tottenham

Tottenham managed to sign a World-class Manager in Antonio Conte last summer.

Even with a weak squad and low budget, Tottenham managed to maintain a top-four finish and qualified for the Champions League. This is no mean feat.

This summer, the Tottenham board injected funds into the squad to help Conte achieve better things.

Tottenham player Signings this season has been very shrewd and exactly what they needed.

Hence, we predict that Spurs would end the season above Chelsea and Arsenal in 3rd place.

4. Chelsea

Chelsea have not had the best of summer, really. The change of ownership was crucial for them, really.

Moreover, their signings so far have not addressed key areas. It’s just a case of replacing outgoing players, not strengthening the club per se.

Also, the departure of Lukaku and Timo Werner has left a big void in Chelsea’s attack.

So, they are left with just Kai Havertz as the only major center attacker (not a striker in the first place).

It is expected that they sign a new striker.

Despite all of these worries, we still see Chelsea claiming the 4th spot in the 2022/23 Premier League season – above Arsenal. Why?

Thomas Tuchel proved beyond reasonable doubt last season that he can still manage to get the best out of his players despite underlying issues at the top management.

So, we expect the same energy this season.

5. Arsenal

Since Arteta’s appointment, Arsenal have never challenged for the Premier League title.

Last season, Arsenal was one of the biggest spenders in Europe, still they could not qualify for the Champions League.

Long story short, we do not see Arsenal improving on their performance last season even with the signing of Gabriel Jesus, who looks like a good prospect for them.

6. West Ham

David Moyes has been a revelation at West Ham.

Although he has not started the season well, we predict he will have a good season again.

7. Manchester United

This is a club that has been plagued for about a decade now.

They just have not found the right structure or management to take the club to where it used to be.

Even the appointment of Erik Ten Hag‘s cannot seem to fix their problem. No proper structure or change or quality signings of key players.

Worse of all, Manchester United are about to sign Adrien Rabiot – who has never had a great career to date.

It’s just an easy prediction that Manchester United will fail again this season for obvious reasons.

In fact, our prediction of 7th place finish for Manchester United in the 2022/23 season is an act of magnanimity because of their rich history.

8. Newcastle United

Eddie Howe has been fantastic since his appointment at Newcastle.

We believe that he will have success again this season. Hence, we predict Newcastle to hold down the 8th spot in the 2022/23 Premier League.

9. Aston Villa

Just like Howe, Steven Gerrard has lifted the spirit at Aston Villa.

We have no logical reason to expect a woeful performance from Aston Villa this season.

So, we predict that Aston Villa will take the 9th spot on the Premier League table this season.

See below the rest of our predictions of the 2022/23 Premier League table.

Next, we’ll only explain why we predicted the 3 teams to be relegated.

10. Southampton

11. Brighton

12.  Brentford

13. Leicester City

14. Everton

15. Leeds United

16. Fulham

17. Crystal Palace

18. Wolves

Wolves struggled a lot last season and were nearly relegated.

Since then, not much has happened to improve the squad.

We predict that Wolves will be one of the teams to be relegated in the forthcoming season.

19. Bournemouth

The English Championship is not on the same level as the Premier League.

Most of the time, promoted teams struggle to survive in the Premier League.

Plus, nothing big has changed at Bournemouth this summer.

Therefore, we expect Bournemouth to be relegated back to the Championship.

20. Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have signed about 11 players this summer in a bid to improve their squad and stay alive in the Premier League.

However, history shows that teams who did this in the past never perform well.

Tottenham did this after selling Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. They signed more than 9 players in one summer. The result? Disaster.

Fulham also signed over 9 players the last time they were promoted. The result? Another relegation.

These are just a few examples.

So, it’s an easy prediction to place Nottingham Forest in the 20th spot. They have the highest chance of being relegated back to the Championship.
